Our Impact
Xenia Venues was built to grow a portfolio of wedding venues with care. Care for the teams who run them, the suppliers who support them, the communities they sit within, and the couples who celebrate there.
Becoming a Certified B Corporation™ is one way we hold ourselves accountable to that approach as we grow our business, and therefore, our positive social impact.
You can find our profile on the B Corp directory here.
What B Corp™ certification means
Certified B Corporations™ are businesses independently verified by B Lab against standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
The assessment covers how a business is run across governance, workers, community, environment and customers.
For Xenia Venues, certification meant reviewing how we operate both at group level and within each venue.
Our score
Certification requires a verified score of 80 or above out of 200.
The median score is 50.9, and the sector average score for certified B Corps in our group of venues is 81.0.
Xenia Venues was certified in March 2026 with a score of 90.5.
This reflects the culture, practices and systems we have in place today, and provides a baseline for how we evolve our impact as we grow.
Governance
Our integrated Social Impact Taskforce works alongside executive leadership to define and track our impact priorities, embedding them into how the group is run day to day.
At venue level, Social Impact Champions ensure those priorities are implemented in day-to-day operations.
Workers
We are an accredited Real Living Wage employer through Living Wage UK and we’re proud to be part of the 0.4% of UK hospitality businesses to achieve this distinction.
Across the group:
76% of our team are women
91% of managers and supervisors are women
34% of the team identify as coming from a low-income background
We also plan rotas six weeks in advance, providing greater stability for our team.
Five pillars, in practice
Community
When a venue joins Xenia Venues, its local relationships are retained. More than that, they are enhanced.
Across the group, over £4 million was invested in local supply chains last year.
Around 64% of third-party suppliers booked by couples come through venue recommendations, supporting local independent businesses. Community engagement is shaped locally at each venue, reflecting the needs of the area.
Environment
Across our venues:
Around 80% of fresh produce is sourced within 30 miles
Electricity tariffs have transitioned to renewable sources
Waste is managed through a zero-to-landfill partner
Water use is a key focus, with a 2026 target of reducing usage to below 35,000 litres per wedding — a saving of over 1.5 million litres compared to 2024 across the group.
We’re committed to going further — setting ambitious targets, sharpening our systems, and raising the bar on what a wedding venue group can achieve for the people and places it touches.
Customers
Our venues are responsible for delivering one of the most important days in a couple’s life.
Certification does not change that responsibility. It provides independent verification of the practices behind how those experiences are delivered.
For couples, that includes:
A team supported through fair pay commitments
A supply chain that prioritises local sourcing
Ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact
An embedded culture of positive social impact
Where it shows up
This work is most visible at our venues.
High House in Essex and Copdock Hall in Suffolk each retain their identity, their teams and their local relationships. Becoming part of Xenia Venues is designed to enhance and invest in those qualities, not replace them.
Venues don’t simply join the group — they are acquired or sold to us — and our role is to apply our standards consistently while enhancing each venue’s character and sense of place.
What’s next
Certification is a starting point, not an endpoint.
Our next areas of focus include:
• Further reducing water usage
• Increasing the proportion of local supply chain spend
• Improving how we measure and report our environmental impact
As we grow, these standards will apply to every venue we bring into the group.

NEXT STEPS
How we help Owners Exit their Business
It is understandable that some wedding venue owners feel trapped within their business. Weddings are booked many months or years in advance and their team and couples may rely on them. Xenia Venues buys and operates existing wedding venues discreetly, without disruption to the team or couples.
For many venue owners, this will be their first experience of selling a business, however we are here to guide them through the process.
